Whilst doing a Foundation Course at West Sussex College of Art, I spotted some freshly dyed yarns hanging up to dry in one of the studios. I asked what went on in the studio, and, experienced an instant belief that that was what I wanted to do. I went on to study for a degree in Textiles at Camberwell College of Art and have been a practicing Textile Designer almost ever since.
I have taught Textiles part-time for several years at various Colleges, mainly at Morley College.
A few years ago I started to work with business partner Eveline Droge on a machine knitted/hand -dyed range of Fashion Accessories under the name of Bantam Knits.
Bantam Knits has since then expanded the range into screen printing onto knitted lambswool cushions. This opportunity has given me the chance to develop drawings into designs for cushions focussing on different dog breeds.
I have always loved to draw, and now we sell paper prints of dog drawings as well as greetings cards featuring the dogs belonging to friends or people that request them.
